Christian Solidarity Worldwide

Stuart Windsor, the National Director of Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW)  spoke at the Baptist Tabernacle, on Friday 11th May, 2007.  He  highlighted the plight of Christians worldwide who are being persecuted for their faith.

 An ordained Assemblies of God minister, Stuart has been involved in advocacy on behalf of the persecuted church for 25 years and has visited many countries where there’s conflict, war and intense persecution of Christians, including the Sudan, Nigeria, Pakistan, Nepal, India and Armenia.  Many of these trips have been with Baroness Caroline Cox, a deputy speaker of the House of Lords and former president of CSW.

Stuart will be returning to Darlington in December, 2008.

 Sagemont Mission Team

Darlington Baptist Tabernacle welcomed a mission team from Sagemont Baptist Church in Houston, Texas, from 21-29 April, 2007. The team accompanied their Senior Pastor John D. Morgan who spoke at the Northern Baptist Association Assembly held at Stockton Tabernacle on 28th April.

 During their stay in Darlington, the team helped the church develop its relationships with the local community. They were involved in a door-to-door visitation programme, open-air evangelism, special guest services and an International Evening.

Another team from Sagemont will be visiting the Darlington Tabernacle in September, 2008. 

Viz-a-Viz Event

Darlington Baptist Tabernacle organized a More to Life event in Bondgate Methodist Church Hall on Wednesday 13th June. The event featured Dennis Pethers, the founder of Viz-a-viz ministries and the Envizage Theatre Company. The event was ideal for Christians who wanted to bring non-Christian friends to a contemporary relevant even which was faithful to the Bible.

 A lunch and talk was also organized.

Heights Team Visit

A team from the Heights Church in Dallas visited to help with mission. They participated in a number of evangelistic activities including door-to-door visitation, open air evangelism and youth coffee bars. The team leader Keith Smith led a Family Life Seminar.

 


 


Stuar Windsor from Christian Solidarity Worldwide visited the church in May and highlighted the plight of the persecuted church.
