Baptist Tabernacle is an Evangelical church
near the centre of Darlington.
We are committed to bible-based preaching and teaching, depth in
prayer, radical Christ-cented discipleship and gospel-centred
mission. We seek
to combine the best of
traditional and contemporary styles in our
worship.Over the last few years, we have engaged in exciting developments and fresh initiatives including a Kidz Church to reach unchurched children, an Asylum Seeker Drop-In Centre, Cafe Church in Starbucks and various forms of evangelism.
We take prayer and the Great Commission seriously. The Antioch church in the Acts of the Apostles is seen as a positive role model. From the description of this church in the Acts of the Apostles, we note the following characteristics of a Spirit-filled church which we seek to emulate:

In order to fulfil our Christ-given mission, we encourage every believer to discover his or her God-given spiritual gifts and ministries. Although there is a wide range of weekly activities, relationships are seen more important than activity and much of what we do is being re-focussed to emphasize the importance of fellowship.
We would offer a very warm welcome to all who would seek to join us for worship, to hear God's word and to experience God's presence. Prayer ministry is available for those who request it. We would particularly welcome those who have been hurt by church and are looking for a second chance.
